80s and 90s Night
Saturday, Jan 7 (2012) 9:00p to Sunday, Jan 8 (2012) 2:00a
at Baseball Tavern, Boston, MA
Price: $5 on the guestlist
Phone: (617) 867-6526
Age Suitability: 21 and up
It’s time to flashback to the days of bad haircuts and first kisses. Every Saturday night The Baseball Tavern celebrates the 80s and 90s musical classics from artists Michael Jackson to Journey.
With the majority of venues playing only the hits of today, David Mendoza, founder of Decades Entertainment saw a need to bring back the old crowd favorites. Mendoza collaborates with The Baseball Tavern in dedicating one whole night a week to recreating the 80s and 90s magic.
The Baseball Tavern, located on Boylston Street is the perfect home for such a night. The bar provides a fun upbeat environment as well vintage video games and pool tables. Red Sox fans that drop by after a game agree that no song follows “Sweet Caroline” better than “Just Can’t Stop ‘til You Get Enough”.
Expect to hear top the chart hits from artists such as Madonna, Prince, Run DMC, New Kids, Sir Mix Alot, Notorious BIG and Spice Girls for well-rounded commemorative evening. Mendoza comments “People are always saying ‘I haven't heard that song in ages!’ or ‘I played that song in the first car I ever bought!’”
Whether it’s the Michael Jackson song that had you moonwalking through high school or the Vanilla Ice song that inspired your awful haircut, The Baseball Tavern invites you to join the crowd in revisiting their former “cooler” days.
So go ahead, bust out an off-the-shoulder shirt and some neon accessories. Just be sure to save the fist pumping for the Jersey shore. Air guitars and air microphones welcome.

The Addams Family
The Addams Family at Boston, Massachusetts, United States
Cost: $33.00 -$103.00 all prices include a $3.00 facility fee per ticket
The national tour of the new musical comedy THE ADDAMS FAMILY, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, will make its Boston premiere February 7-19, 2012 at the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre as part of the LEXUS 2011-12 Broadway Across America - Boston Series.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY, entering its second year on Broadway, began performances in March 2010 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and immediately became one of Broadway's biggest hits, regularly grossing over $1 million a week.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY features an original story. It's every parent's nightmare. Your little girl
has suddenly become a young woman, and what's worse, has fallen deliriously in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. Yes, Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has a "normal" boyfriend, and for parents Gomez and Morticia, it's a shocking development that turns the Addams house upside down when they are forced to host a dinner for the young man and his parents.
In a prolific career spanning six decades, Charles Addams created several thousand cartoons, sketches and drawings, many of which were published in The New Yorker. But it was his creation of characters that came to be known as The Addams Family that brought Addams his greatest acclaim. With a unique style that combined the twisted, macabre and just plain weird with charm, wit and enchantment, Addams' drawings have entertained millions worldwide and served as the inspiration for multiple television series and motion pictures.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY is produced on Broadway by Stuart Oken, Roy Furman, Michael Leavitt, Five Cent Prods., Stephen Schuler, Decca Theatricals, Scott M. Delman, Stuart Ditsky, Terry Allen Kramer, Stephanie P. McClelland, James L. Nederlander, Eva Price, Jam Theatricals/Mary Lu Roffe, Pittsburgh CLO/Gutterman-Swinsky, Vivek Tiwary/Gary Kaplan, The Weinstein Co./Clarence, LLC and Adam Zotovich/Tribe Theatricals, by special arrangement with Elephant Eye Theatrical.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY plays at the Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre for sixteen performances: Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM (except Wednesday, February 8, at 7:00 PM); Friday evenings at 8:00 PM; Saturdays at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM; and Sundays at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Tickets are priced at $33.00 -$103.00; all prices include a $3.00 facility fee per ticket. Tickets for THE ADDAMS FAMILY are on sale at the Citi Performing Arts Center Box Office, online at www.citicenter.org or by calling (866) 348-9738. Discounted tickets are available for groups of 10 or more by contacting Citi Performing Arts Center Group Sales at (617) 532-1116 or at groupsales@citicenter.org

Appearing on stage with a stool, a microphone, and a can of Diet Pepsi, PAULA POUNDSTONE is famous for her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity. The Boston Globe said, “Poundstone improvises with a crowd like a Jazz musician…swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net.” Paula is so quick and unassuming that audience members at her live shows often leave complaining that their cheeks hurt from laughter and debating whether the random people she talked to were “plants”. |
