La Jota has been producing wines since the 1890s on Howell Mountain. The wines are handcrafted at the original 1898 fieldstone winery and hillside cave. From the low yielding vines of 28 mountain acres, they produce cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and their crown jewel, the annual Heritage Release cabernet sauvignon. Highly concentrated flavors and muscular tannins make these wines distinctive and age worthy. Winemaker Chris Carpenter will present wines that represent the finest examples of La Jota terroir.

Bill leads us through multiple vintages and appellations of Bordeaux wines, starting with a detailed seminar, moving through dinner and finishing with a glass of one of his specialties, Sauternes. This event is not to be missed.

Alex Gambal founded his own winery in 1997. He is now making about 5000 cases of wine per year exclusively in the Cote d’Or; including Bourgogne chardonnays, pinot noirs, grand crus such as Corton Charlemagne, Clos Vougeot and Le Chambertin. His artisanal winemaking style, including racking the wine by hand, barreling by gravity, and bottling by the phases of the moon, contributes to the purity and character which define his wines.
